Carbonless copy paper (CCP, also known as carbonless copying paper), or pressure-sensitive paper, is a type of invisible copy paper that allows for direct copying and direct color development. From a materials science perspective, it is a coated paper made by coating one or both sides with a special substance. Under localized pressure, it can simultaneously generate one or more copies during writing or printing without the need for traditional copy paper.
Its color development mainly occurs when pressure causes pressure-sensitive pigments and oil solutions in microcapsules to leak out and react with a developer, resulting in a staining reaction and thus achieving the copying function. It is primarily used for multi-part forms, invoices, continuous financial documents, and general business invoices.
